I am 20 years old. I am Southern, born and raised, and have resided in Georgia most of my life. I am the baby of four children, and the only girl. I have nieces and nephews who have completely and utterly stolen my heart, and all my free time is spent with them.
I am currently a second year nursing student, but, as fate would have it, the EMT field has called my name. So, starting August 2010, I will be an EMT-b student.
You may ask why after two years I've decided to make a change. Well, for as long as I can remember trauma has been the most exciting thing I could think of. Then, I dated a fireman for three years. Every single time the pager went off, I think I got more of a thrill than he did. And being around the fire halls and equipment set in stone for me that this is my calling.
I am excited to see where this path takes me, and absolutely cannot wait until I can officially call myself an EMT. What you read here is just the journey.
